By the end of February, there was an approximate 43% increase in stolen car incidents in Madison compared to Jan-Feb 2020. This week some of the incidents in Madison included 4 vehicles stolen from the Ridgewood Neighborhood on the East side. And on Monday evening (3/22) an unattended running vehicle was taken from the Taco Bell in the 600 block of South Whitney Way.
To prevent crimes of opportunity, keep your vehicle locked at all times and get it the habit of doing a “9pm Routine” where each night you check to make sure your vehicles are locked (take all keys and valuables with you), your garage door is closed and the service door between your home and garage is locked.
