According to the Centers for Disease Control, every year 3 million older people are treated in emergency rooms for fall injuries. One out of five falls causes a serious injury such as broken bones or a head injury. And each year at least 300,000 older people are hospitalized for hip fractures—95% of them from falls, and usually by falling sideways.

Learn how you can lessen your risk of falls by attending this month’s Triad presentation on Wednesday November 16 at 10am. Madison Fire Department Community Safety Educator, Bernadette Galvez, will give a presentation on “Falls Prevention: Navigating the Community Safely.”
