- The Common Council voted 11-8 to move civilian Parking Enforcement Officers from MPD to Parking Utility despite testimony from PEOs who said it would make their jobs more complicated and less safe and cost taxpayers more money.

- News3 reported that Freedom, Inc has launched its Black Sanctuary Pledge for MMSD teachers to sign which states that “calling any law enforcement agency on any child is unacceptable.”
- A Wisconsin State Assembly Law Enforcement Policies and Standards Task Force led by Rep. Shelia Stubbs, D-Madison and Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, R-Kaukauna released its final report after 7 months of work. Recommendations included making police agencies share their use-of-force policies online, requiring officers to take critical incident training and standardizing the reporting of use-of-force incidents to the state.
- The Assembly Task Force also recommended that all police officers wear body cameras which prompted the Wisconsin State Journal Editorial Board nudge the Madison Common Council to “heed sweeping support for body cameras.”
